Occupy London Petition now Live

If you support the reclaiming of people power...

#OccupyLSX invites you to sign the petition here

...Why sign?

  • It's understandable to be cynical about petitions, but it's a possible string in the bow for awareness and development of this movement
  • It takes 1 minute of our time
  • We can send a message to the mainstream media and cynics that there is a lot of support for what we do, contrary to the claims made by an interviewee in the Evening Standard that 'Nobody wants us here, and Nobody likes it'.

You can't take my soul

Was going to edit it - but time it's too good to hold back. Enjoy and thankyou to everyone who joined in and allowed me to film it.

RE: Construction of this website / idea

Just a quick post to say that soon enough pages in development will be revealed! (most of what exists is a taster) The size of the occupy movement has taken me a little by surprise and wanting to first take it all in, I've had a few days to move around chatting to people and spending time at St Paul's I feel ready to contribute something. I've just popped home to pick up one of my old guitars and my camera and I'm off back home to update this site and network with those who wanted to contribute.

There is no rigid format to becoming a contributor here, but what is essential is that we are on the same page and are aiming in a similar direction: namely, to promote 'science' for social concern and introduce this into discussion at Occupy Together movements, and to society in general.

I'm inspired and excited by both projects and look forward to pod-casting and you-tubing some material. Just a few things.

  • My main goal is to provide thought provoking and educational material. It could be said this will mean content comes in a little slower. If however you wish to contribute in a more traditional journalistic sense (photography, video, reporting of events, interviews) please please do contact me here: nexusmediaforum@gmail.com
  • After many hours spent trying to be a journalist - I'm not ready - I'm still an artist at heart and feel a pressing burden to complete that work before delving heavily into the research required to deliver content here. This means I'm looking for others to fill this role. I feel confident and competent to give you some of the materials you might need. If you read the About section and it sounds exciting to you - please contact me.
  • There will be a page specifically dedicated to discussions with the Occupy LSX movement
  • I'm still deciding if this site could handle a global perspective or try to branch out locally via means of chapters or divisions that cover different regions. Perhaps with a larger team (Which I intend to build slowly) this will be possible, hopefully under one website)
  • The site, and myself, are influenced by many groups, and many ideas, though is not strictly affiliated with any political or social movement by default. I (we) hopefully recognize such things as abstractions or social constructs - tools through which like minds may meet and move forward - not to be confused with any sense of vicarious identity. The main concern is what are the most constructive and demonstrably effective means by which to move towards a society that includes everyone and improves standards of living in terms of life value.
  • Thank you to everyone at Occupy LSX and around the world - you have been inspirational, hospitable and open to discussion. Perhaps the next step may be recognition of the 100% that occupy, until technology allows us, this one lone planet. Our fate is a shared one - and in a system such as we have designed - is what we see before us not a predictable product of a far deeper problem? Hopefully, I will be able to contribute some answers, and further questions to this discussion. See you on site soon. I leave you with this short film about the protest by journalist/photographer Kelly Chung.
